Red Cross meals continue in Fort Plain

ALBANY – The American Red Cross of Northeastern New York will continue its mobile feeding operations in Fort Plain at least until Sunday, according to a news release.

Meals will be distributed through Fort Plain neighborhoods by volunteers and staffers using Emergency Response Vehicles and other Red Cross vehicles, according to the release.

The meals distrubuted are cook and chill meals prepared by the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. Other food and personal care items will be supplied by the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, a partner with the regional Red Cross in this operation. Meal distribution times will be from about 11 a.m. to 1p.m. for snacks and drinks, and 4:30-6:30 p.m. for dinner, the release said.

Trained Red Cross volunteers and staff are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week if anyone needs disaster assessment, client casework, sheltering, mass care or feeding, the release said.
