Gloversville organizational meeting slated for tonight
GLOVERSVILLE – The city Board of Education will hold its annual organizational meeting tonight. A new board member will be sworn in and two incumbents will be sworn in for another term.
Joining the board for the first time will be Kevin Kucel, who finished second in a six-person race for four open seats.
The board also will elect a president and vice president for the 2013-14 school year.
Board President Pete Semione will continue to serve on the school board since his term has not expired, but he has said he will not seek the office of president this year.
The board will take care of several housekeeping issues, including the appointment of a district clerk, treasurer, auditor and official newspaper. A regular board meeting will be held immediately after the organizational meeting.
The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Board of Education meeting room at the middle school.
