Bannertown club meets Wednesday
MAYFIELD – Before the Bannertown 50-Plus meeting recently, Becky White went over all the services offered by the Office for Aging. She encourages seniors to take advantage of these services, a news release said. It can help seniors solve their problem or it can put seniors in touch with someone who can help them, the release said.
Pres. Carl Edwards opened the meeting with the salute to the flag. Reports of the officers were accepted. Edwards welcomed a new member, Nancy McWilliams.
At the meeting Wednesday John Snyder will present tips during a presentation titled, “How I can Drive Safer-Longer.”
A driver’s safety course will be offered Aug. 21 from 9a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Mayfield Municipal Building. The cost will be $17 for AARP members and $19 for non-members. Call Carl Edwards at 661-5339 for information or reservation. Space will be limited.
There will be no tickets sold at the door for the senior picnic. People should plan to buy them at the next meeting Wednesday.
The cookie committee for Wednesday will be Joan Bezio and Sherin Akey.
The birthday prize was won by Nila Edwards. Drawings were held: the door prize was won by Ann Mallin; the 50-50 by Sherin Akey; $1 by Mid Ellithorpe.
