People sought for planned trips

GLEN – The regular meeting of the Glen-Mohawk Seniors was opened by Charlene Pollock, president, followed by a morning prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. “America” was sung, with Barbara Furman at the piano.

The roll call was taken with 43 members present. D. Dorine Dimond read the attendance record for the first six months of this year.

The secretary’s report was accepted as read. The treasurer’s report was given and will be filed for audit.

The group’s annual picnic will be Tuesday and 46 people have signed up to attend. All volunteers who want to help set up prior to the picnic should arrive at 8 a.m. Monday.

The Office for the Aging annual picnic will be Sept. 20. Anyone who is planning to attend should get their money to Furman by Aug. l3, so she can get the tickets.

Ron Collins gave the bus trip report and Lu Wilmot is looking for more people to go on the trips to Chatham, Columbia County, and Cape Cod, Mass. Jean Angus gave a report on the Lake George, Warren County, trip that was taken last week.

Olive Taylor had a few readings and Charlene Fonda conducted another trivia game for the group.

The 50-25-25 raffle winners this week were Dimond and Fonda.

The meeting adjourned. Alan Taylor gave the closing prayer and bingo was played after the meeting.
