Jason Thomas Barton
Jason Thomas Barton passed away June 28, 2013, while vacationing with his loving family in South Carolina, after a sudden illness. Jason was born on July 15, 1980, in Gloversville, N.Y. and was the son of Guy and Bonnie Barton (Hammer).
Jason grew up in Wells, N.Y., and attended Wells Central School. He graduated from FMCC in 2001 and attended Alfred State.
Jason used his technical skills in a variety of positions, working as an independent contractor.
Jason was a devoted husband to Christy and loving father to his two children, Marissa and Charlie, and stepchildren, Dylan and Laney Heaney. If you wanted to find Jason, find one of his children – he was always with them. Jason loved woodworking and being the captain on his boat on Lake Algonquin. He always had a smile and the ability to make those around him smile and love life. He was the best friend to his brother, Tommy. They shared many a laugh together and entertained others with Jason’s singing and Tommy’s guitar playing.
Jason is survived by his loving wife, Christy Barton; two children, Marissa and Charlie Barton; two stepchildren, Dylan and Laney Heaney of Wells; his brother, Thomas (Ashley) Barton from Rhode Island; uncle, Terry Barton and aunt, Penny Raymond from Wells.
There will be no viewing hours. There will be a celebration of Jason’s life at 2 p.m. at Wells Town Community Center on Friday, July 5, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Jason Barton Memorial Fund at First Niagra Bank, 138 N. Comrie Ave., Johnstown, NY.
