Wonderful volunteers fixed up home

On June 15, a wonderful group of people (volunteers) came to my home at 8 a.m. and worked tirelessly until 4 p.m. to plant flowers, paint, repair and make my corner where I live look beautiful with their makeover service. This service was the idea of Chanda King, who wanted to provide a free makeover service to owner-occupied one- or two-family homes in the city. Many seniors, especially, could use a helping hand with their yard, etc. I, for one, am no longer able to trim hedges, etc., and appreciate the help.

I want to thank Chanda King and Dayton King, Sean Dooling, Steve and Kelly Lawrence, Rob and Kelly Curtis, Kathy Insonia, and all other volunteers who came that day to give of themselves to complete this project to beautify my home. God bless you all.

I would also like to thank those businesses that helped by their donations of materials, food and flowers. They are Benjamin Moore, Kingsboro Lumber, Subway, Wayne Peters and Main Street Photography. I know there are ladies who volunteered, who brought plants and plant holders and other things as they planted. Thank you all.

A thank you to the Gloversville Curb Appeal committee and all the volunteers. I so appreciate all you did. God bless you all.

I will be available whenever you do the next home, helping in whatever way I can.

People helping people is what it’s all about. Thank you all.
