Village weighs burial ground

FULTONVILLE – The village is looking for the public’s input on establishing a Natural Burial Ground at the Village Cemetery. A public hearing Monday at 6 p.m., at the village offices at 10 Erie St.

The intent of the hearing is to give citizens and potential beneficiaries the opportunity to consider the potential impacts and benefits of the proposed Natural Burial Ground and to comment on it, a news release said.

Natural burial is the burial of a body in a way that does not inhibit the decomposition but allows the body to recycle naturally.

The village said it urges all residents to attend. Comments and questions can be mailed to the Village Hall at 10 Erie St., P.O. Box 337, Fultonville, N.Y. 12072. If special accomodations are required for attendance at the meeting, call the Village Hall at 853-3815.
