Four hurt in Broadalbin auto accident

BROADALBIN – Four people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday that involved one car flipping over on County Highway 110, Fulton County sheriff’s deputies reported.

Deputies said the accident occurred at 5:56 p.m. at the intersection with Hatzenbuhler Road.

Driver Casey J. Mello, 17, of 5724 Lake Road, Galway, complained of an arm injury but was not immediately taken to a hospital. Deputies said two of his passengers – Jeremy S. Kitchen, 17, and Brandon M. Paul, 15 – suffered back and head injuries, respectively. The passengers were taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.

Deputies said another driver – Mark E. Price, 52, of Box 126, Galway – complained of a chest injury. He was taken to an unspecified health facility.

Mello, who deputies noted had a junior driver’s license, stated he didn’t see Price’s car as he was crossing over County Highway 110. Price’s vehicle struck Mello’s car, and the collision made Mello’s vehicle flip and strike a car driven by Zachary T. Moore, 20, of Box 883, Broadalbin. Deputies said Moore’s vehicle was sitting at a stop sign on Lakeview Road. No tickets were issued.
