Supercross season to begin at Royal

CAROGA LAKE – The 22nd season of Monster Supercross racing under the lights will begin Wednesday at Royal Mountain Ski Area.

More than 200 riders are expected to compete, according to a news release.

All riders must be signed in before practice begins at 7 p.m. with racing getting under way at 8 p.m.

Among the classes in competition will be 50cc, 60cc, 80cc, 125 and 250 amateur and expert, seniors and quad.

Riders will compete for weekly awards through August as well as accumulating points for series championships.

Racing at Royal Mountain is sponsored by Monster energy drinks and Bartyzel Distributors of Amsterdam.
