Police: Man had bag of crack cocaine

GLOVERSVILLE – City police said an intoxicated driver was arrested after he fled on foot and attempted to dispose of multiple bags of crack cocaine during the pursuit.

Renardo McCubbin, 28, of 82 Eagle St., was charged early Sunday morning with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

Police said during the course of a vehicle stop on East Fulton Street near Wells Street, an officer determined McCubbin was intoxicated while operating the vehicle.

However, police said, once the officer advised McCubbin – aka “Sha-Boogey” – he was under arrest, McCubbin attempted to flee on foot but he was apprehended by the officer after a short foot pursuit.

Police said the officer observed McCubbin toss something as he was running. Once McCubbin was in custody, police said, the officer located the item McCubbin had thrown – a bag containing individually packaged baggies of crack cocaine.

McCubbin was arraigned before acting City Court Judge Joan Antonik and sent to the Fulton County Correctional Facility on $25,000 cash bail.
