Police: Man had bags of crack cocaine
GLOVERSVILLE – City police said an intoxicated driver was arrested after he fled on foot and attempted to dispose of multiple bags of crack cocaine during the pursuit.
Renardo McCubbin, 28, of , was charged early Sunday morning on East Fulton Street near Wells Street with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
Police said during the course of a vehicle stop, an officer determined McCubbin was intoxicated while operating the vehicle.
However, police said, once the officer advised McCubbin – aka “Sha-Boogey” – he was under arrest, McCubbin attempted to flee on foot but he was apprehended by the officer after a short foot pursuit.
Police said the officer observed McCubbin toss something as he was running. Once McCubbin was in custody, police said, the officer located the item McCubbin had thrown – a bag containing individually packaged baggies of crack cocaine.
McCubbin was arraigned before acting City Court Judge Joan Antonik and sent to the Fulton County Correctional Facility on $25,000 cash bail.
