Fort Plain man faces riot charge

FORT PLAIN – A village man is facing a riot charge after police say he drove people to the sight of a fight then fled the scene alone and nearly struck people with his vehicle.

Village police Tuesday charged Tyler L. Hogan, 19, of 171 LE Main St., with second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree riot and reckless driving.

Police said a large fight occurred on Willett Street, and several witnesses said Hogan was driving recklessly and nearly struck people in retaliation for an unrelated offense.

Police said Hogan brought four people to the area to engage in the fight and then fled the scene alone, almost striking other vehicles.

He was processed and released with appearance tickets for Minden Town Court.
