Amsterdam man charged in stabbing
AMSTERDAM A city man has been charged in the stabbing of another man in the neck Wednesday night, city police said.
Police said Michael L. Medina, 22, of 15 James St., Apartment 1, was charged with a felony count of second-degree assault in connection with the stabbing incident at 9:46 p.m. Wednesday at Five Corners Mobil on Church Street.
He also was charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanor resisting arrest and failure to appear.
The stabbing victim was sent to Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Medina was found in a closet at his home and taken into custody. While officers tried to take Medina into custody, he bit an officer in the arm, police said. He was found to be in possession of a knife during the arrest, police said.
