Beverly C. Retersdorf
Mrs. Beverly C. Retersdorf, 89, of Gloversville, passed away on Thursday morning, May 30, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born on September 12, 1923, in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Frances (Lewis) Cederholm.
She was married to Robert C. Retersdorf, who passed away in 1994.
Mrs. Retersdorf worked as a cafeteria coordinator for the Gloversville Enlarged School District for over 25 years until her retirement in 1986.
Beverly enjoyed crafts and sewing; she was a gifted quilter, knitter and crocheter, teaching many classes on the subject. She was a member of the Red Hats, the Broadalbin Senior Citizens and the Ida McGinnis Senior Club.
Besides her husband, Beverly was predeceased by her son, David Retersdorf, in 2008; and her sister, Lois Mowrey, in 1992.
She is survived by her sons, Terry (Meg) Retersdorf of Pass Christian, Miss., Robert (Madelyn) Retersdorf of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Michael (Julie) Retersdorf of Austin, Texas; six grandsons, Henry, Benjamin, William, Michael, Andrew and Aaron Retersdorf.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, immediately followed by interment at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Broadalbin Senior Citizens.
