Myrna Douglas, 77, of St. Johnsville, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2013, with her loving family by her side.
She was born July 30, 1935, in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Droski) Kramer and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, class of 1953.
Her marriage to Robert Douglas took place on May 26, 1956, in St. Johnsville.
Mrs. Douglas was last employed as a bookkeeper for the former Dr. Dewey Boyer in Ilion, retiring in 1996. At one time she was employed for the late Dr. Raymond Wytrwal in St. Johnsville and the former Central National Bank in St. Johnsville.
Myrna was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church in St. Johnsville and at one time she was a Sunday School teacher.
Myrna’s life revolved around her family, with the happiest times being in the company of her loved ones, especially her loving grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She enjoyed attending and supporting the events of her children and grandchildren. At one time she was a den mother for the Cub Scouts. In her leisure, Myrna enjoyed the times she spent in Saratoga. An avid bowler, she was active with many bowling leagues.
Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Robert; two sons, Rodney Douglas and wife, Patricia of Madison, Alabama and Randy Douglas and wife, Jolynn of Fonda; two daughters, Rhonda Snell and husband, Donald of Johnstown and Julie Battisti and husband, Dominic of St. Johnsville; a brother, Wayne Kramer of Johnstown; eight grandchildren, Robert Douglas, Kassady Douglas, Shannon Snell, Shane Snell, Shianna Snell, Randy Douglas Jr., Abigail Douglas and Maria Battisti; a great-granddaughter, Claire Boyer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline Subik; and a brother, Lamont (Chipper) Kramer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 3 p.m. from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY 518-568-7040, with the Reverend Karen Patterson, officiating. Burial will follow at West St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Saturday, June 1, 2013, from noon until the time of the services.
