Fireworks event set in Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown Area Community Center has announced the city’s “star spangled” fireworks celebration will return after more than 35 years on June 29 at Knox Field.

The event will celebrate America’s birthday, a news release said.

The rain date will be June 30.

Flame will provide the musical entertainment at 6:30 p.m., leading up to the fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

The fireworks will be provided by Alonzo Fireworks of Mechanicville, the news release said.

The event is free, but donations are accepted.

Anyone who wants to make a non-charitable donation can do so through the JACC. Checks made out to JACC can be mailed to JACC, c/o Mike Muzzi, 319 Fon Clair St., Johnstown, NY 12095, the news release said.
