Checkpoint yields 32 tickets: troopers

Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies and state police conducted a seatbelt checkpoint Tuesday as part of the state’s “Buckle Up N.Y., Click it or Ticket Campaign,” a news release said.

In the release, troopers said 32 tickets were issued at the checkpoint, 14 were for seatbelt violations, six for child-restraint violations, one for using a cellphone while driving and 11 for other crimes.

An arrest also was made for unlawful possession of marijuana, the release said.

The campaign runs through June 2, the release said.
