Sir Bills fall in quarterfinals

CAMBRIDGE – Jeremy Mowrey and David Fahr connected for three goals apiece but it was not enough, as the Johnstown boys lacrosse team came up on the short end of the 15-8 score against Cambridge in the Section II Class C quarterfinal match Monday at Cambridge High School.

The third-seeded Indians (10-4) were powered by Len Darcy’s six-goal performance, while Christopher Warnke added four goals and Bryant Gibbons connected for three. Bradley Geroux and Dustin Matatt had one goal apiece for Cambridge, while Paul Baker contributed five assists.

Fahr added a pair of assists to his game credits for the sixth-seeded Sir Bills, while Jeremiah Robinson had a goal and an assist, Austin Brand had a goal and Mowrey added an assist.

Johnstown goalkeeper Zack Simone collected six saves in net, while his counterpart, Nathaniel Gates, stopped 14.
