Woman files lawsuit against district BOE
JOHNSTOWN – A Johnstown woman on Monday filed a civil lawsuit against the Gloversville Enlarged School District Board of Education for negligence stemming from an incident last summer at Darling Field.
Victoria Owens of 165 County Highway 107 – represented by attorney George Abdella of Gloversville – filed suit in state Supreme Court in Johnstown seeking unspecified monetary damages.
Court papers say she was at Darling Field at 198 Kingsboro Ave. in Gloversville at 11:40 a.m. June 16 – leaving a soccer game – when because of a “dangerous condition,” her left foot fell into a hole and she was suffered severe bodily injury.
The lawsuit claims Owens was rendered sick, sore and disabled and will be disabled in the future. The notice indicates a hearing on the matter was previously conducted Nov. 28.
