GHS boys tennis loses in sectionals

SCOTIA – After splitting their two regular-season matches, Foothills Council rivals Gloversville and Scotia-Glenville met in the quarterfinals of the Section II Class A Tournament on Monday.

The Tartans advanced to the semifinals with a 7-0 sweep of the Huskies.

Adam Ashcroft, Ryan Carroll, Aaron Keegan, Jeremy Therrien and Josh Olson all won singles matches for Scotia-Glenville (8-5 overall).

The doubles teams of Cody Soule and Mike Rice, and James Denney and Colter Carlstedt also posted wins for the Tartans.

Scotia-Glenville will travel to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake today for a semifinal contest. Scotia-Glenville is seeking its 14th straight sectional final appearance.

Gloversville finished its season with a 7-4 overall record.
