H.S. Baseball Roundup: Scotia-Glenville tops Broadalbin-Perth, 8-3

SCOTIA – Dan Zeglen went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, lifting Scotia-Glenville to an 8-3 win over Broadalbin-Perth in a Foothills Council baseball game Monday.

Zeglen also earned the win on the mound, allowing four hits and striking out six in 6 innings of work.

Scotia-Glenville scored six runs in the first inning on its way to the victory.

Anthony Musto was 2-for-3 for the Tartans (12-6 overall, 10-3 Foothills), while Tom Militano added a triple.

Anthony Visco was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for Broadalbin-Perth (11-7 overall, 7-6 Foothills), while Tim Gordon had a single and an RBI. Patrick Brown had the only other hit for the Patriots.

Peltz struck out 15 on his way to the complete-game victory.

Taylor Hartman earned the complete-game victory for the Golden Eagles, striking out eight and allowing two hits.

Schoharie sweeps Mekeel Christian

SCOTIA – Schoharie won both games of its WAC South Division doubleheader with Mekeel Christian Acdemy.

In the first game, Rob Henry and Cole Chase each had two singles and two RBIs for Schoharie in an 8-2 win.

In the second game, Schoharie scored five times in the first inning on its way to a 9-2 win.

Aaron Valvo had two hits and two RBIs for Schoharie (10-6 overall, 10-4 WAC), while Devn Brooks had a two-run single. Rich Martino added two hits for the Indians.

Mekeel Christian slipped to 9-7 in WAC play with the losses.

Albany slipped to 7-7 in Big 10 play with the loss.
