Nellis strikes out 15 in Sir Bills’ loss to Tartans

JOHNSTOWN – Joe Nellis turned in another strong outing on the mound for the Johnstown Sir Bills.

The senior hurler struck out 15 Scotia-Glenville batters Friday night but it was not enough as the Tartans pulled out a 6-4 victory over the Sir Bills under the lights at Johnstown High School.

Nick Schaub led the Tartans at the plate with a single, double and two RBIs, while Anthony Musto had a double.

Pat Morrison had two singles and a sacrifice fly for the Sir Bills and Jon Heroth connected for a triple.

Johnstown will host two non-league games today. The Sir Bills will play Unatego (Sect. IV) at 3 p.m. and Peru (Sect. VII) at 7 p.m.

The Sir Bills will wrap-up their regular season with Foothills Council games against Gloversville on Monday and Thursday before entering the Section II Class B postseason tournament.
