H.S. Baseball Roundup: Wells improves to 7-2

WELLS – Caleb Hayes pitched a two-hitter, leading Wells to a win over Westport.

Hayes struck out 13 and walked just one to earn the complete-game victory for the Indians. He also had a double and scored two runs for Wells (7-2 overall, 7-2 MVAC), which scored all of its runs in the first three innings.

Jake Earley had a single, double and two runs scored for the Indians, while Matt Michienzi had two hits and two runs scored.

Adrian Collado added one hit, five RBIs and three runs scored for Wells, while Ernie Hoffman had a double and two RBIs.

Wells is scheduled to host Keene on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

JOHNSTOWN – Connor Rodecker had two doubles, a single and two RBIs to lead Johnstown to a win over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Adam Caputo added a single, double, two RBIs and three runs scored for the Sir Bills (10-4 overall).

Courtney Penson had a triple and two singles for Mekeel Christian Academy (9-5 overall).
