H.S. Softball Roundup: Queensbury blanks Gloversville, 12-0

GLOVERSVILLE – Amy Zuccaro pitched a two-hitter, leading Queensbury to a 12-0 win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council softball game Tuesday.

Zuccaro improved to 7-1 this season, while the Spartans pushed their record to 12-3 overall and 9-2 in Foothills Council play.

Lindsey Ziegler had three hits and an RBI for Queensbury, while Alyssa Sparacia had a double and a single. Taylor Clarke and Sarah O’Brien each had two hits for the Spartans.

Ashley Ostrander and Alexis Capasso each had singles for Gloversville (2-13 overall, 0-11 Foothills)

Hudson Falls 12, Broadalbin-Perth 3

HUDSON FALLS – Ellie Gonyeau and Geneva Strong each went 3-for-4, leading Hudson Falls to a Foothills Council win over Broadalbin-Perth.

Hannah St. Claire pitched a one-hitter for the Tigers, who improved to 8-3 overall and 8-3 in Foothills Council play.

Nicole Sheloski had a double, single and three RBIs for Hudson Falls, while Meghan Barton added a pair of doubles and an RBI.

Kristina Fletcher had the lone hit for Broadalbin-Perth (5-7 overall, 5-6 Foothills).

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Sammy Hubinsky pitched a one-hitter, leading South Glens Falls to a shutout win in a Foothills Council contest.

Hubinsky struck out 13 on her way to the complete-game win. She also added a double for the Bulldogs.

Mallory Celeste had a triple and a single for South Glens Falls (14-3 overall, 10-1 Foothills).

Scotia-Glenville slipped to 9-6 overall and 5-5 in Foothills Council play with the loss.

Mayfield 9, Middleburgh 0

MIDDLEBURGH – Anna Husain pitched a one-hitter, leading Mayfield to a shutout win.

The victory clinched the WAC North Division title for the Lady Panthers.

Husain struck out 11 and walked none to earn the complete-game win. Husain also had a single, double, triple and two RBIs at the plate for the Lady Panthers.

Lisa Hime added two singles and three stolen bases for Mayfield (11-3 overall, 10-2 WAC), while Lyndsey Barber had two singles and an RBI. Jen Little and Maria Messina each had an RBI for the Lady Panthers.

Katie Green had the lone hit for Middleburgh (4-6 WAC).

Schoharie 18, Sharon Springs 1

SHARON SPRINGS – Sydney Foland had three doubles to lead Schoharie past Sharon Springs.

Foland also earned the win in the circle, pitching a complete-game two-hitter.

Lindsey Vanier had three hits for the Indians.

Sarah Green and Marji Entrolezo each had a hit for Sharon Springs.

WELLS – Ellie Schwoebel went 5-for-6 with a single and a grand slam to lead Westport to a win over Wells.

Brendee Russell went 3-for-5 at the plate for the Eagles.

Maigen Wilson had a triple and a single for Wells (0-10 overall, 0-10 MVAC), while Brittany Woodward had a double and a single. Alex Brenan had two singles for the Lady Indians, while Bobbi-Jo Page and Sam Zemken each had a single.
