Street Fair Days set in Fort Plain

FORT PLAIN – The Village of Fort Plain Community Activities Council has announced the activities for the annual Street Fair Days, scheduled for May 16 through 18.

The villagewide garage sales will be going on all three days.

The craft vendor booths, musical entertainment and carnival rides will be at Wiles Park at Harry Hoag Elementary School, a news release said. There will be free parking.

On May 16, the vendor booths will open from 6 to 10 p.m. The Fort Plain High School Jazz Band will perform at 7 p.m. The Dependents will follow from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Carnival rides will open at 6 p.m.

On May 17, vendor booths will be open in Wiles Park from 3 to 10 p.m. Carnival rides will open at 4 p.m. The Wayne Tucker Band will perform from 4 to 7 p.m. and the Emeralds of July Band will perform from 7 to 10 p.m.

On May 18, vendor booths will open at noon and close at 10 p.m. The carnival rides open at noon. A $14 wristband special will be offered for rides. Rides will be offered from 1 to 4 p.m. The Bill Brust Band will perform from 1 to 4 p.m. A hayride from the park to the Scottish Culloden Event at the Fort Plain Museum will operate from 4 to 8 p.m. The Valley Boys Band will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. with the Rusty Mento Blue River Band closing out the evening from 8 to 11 p.m.

People are encouraged to buy advance-sale ride tickets, the news release said

Maps of events and garage sales will be available at the Haslett Park Information Booth, the village office at 168 Canal St. or at the Fort Plain office of NBT Bank.
