Gloversville loses to Scotia-Glenville, 5-2

GLOVERSVILLE – Scotia-Glenville won three of five singles matches and both doubles contests on its way to a 5-2 win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council boys tennis match at Boulevard Elementary School on Wednesday.

Adam Ashcroft, Aaron Keegan and Josh Olson won singles matches for the Tartans (4-5 overall, 4-4 Foothills).

Ashcroft posted a 6-4, 6-3 win over Kyle Gargulio at No. 1 singles, Keegan won 6-4, 6-0 over Mike Marotta at No. 3 singles, and Olson posted a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 win over Jordan Coughlin at No. 4 singles.

The doubles teams of Cody Soule and Mike Rice, and James Denney and Colter Carlstedt also posted wins over Scotia-Glenville. Soule and Rice posted a 7-5, 7-5 win over Gloversville’s Sheldon Billa and Marko Markovic, while Denney and Carlstedt notched a 6-0, 7-6 win over Gloversville’s Josh Daly and Nicholas Bruce.

Scotty Bruce and Mike Priolo each won singles matches for Gloversville (6-3 overall, 6-3 Foothills).

Bruce defeated Scotia-Glenville’s Ryan Carroll 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, while Priolo posted a 6-2, 6-2 win over Raymond Zhang at No. 5 singles.
