FMCC swept by Columbia-Greene

JOHNSTOWN – The Fulton-Montgomery Community College baseball team lost both ends of its doubleheader with Columbia-Greene Community College on Tuesday.

The Twins won the first game 8-3 and the second game 12-7.

In the first game, Columbia-Greene scored six runs over the first two innings on their way to the win.

Cody Broast was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored for Columbia-Greene, while Andriel Santana and Kevin Carpenito each had doubles. Peter Russo was 1-for-3 for the Twins with two RBIs and a run scored, while Jon Halligan was 2-for-2.

Scott Fox earned the win on the mound for Columbia-Greene, allowing six hits, striking out nine and walking two in seven innings.

Jeffery Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a double for FMCC, while Shawn Strong also had a double. Zeb Gaston, Greg Ruddy and Greg Mosetti all had singles for the Raiders.

In the second game, the Twins scored four times in the top of the seventh to break open a one-run game on their way to a 12-7 victory.

Broast, Chris Williams, Phil Gallo and Scott Fox combined on a three-hitter for Columbia-Greene.

Russo was 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the Twins, while Andriel Santana was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored. Kevin Gorman and Kevin Hunt each had one hit and an RBI for Columbia-Greene.

Zeb Gaston had a double, two RBIs and two runs scored for FMCC, while Greg Ruddy had a single, RBI and runs scored. Iziah McCowan had a double, RBI and a run scored for the Raiders, while Bryant Solano had two RBIs. Mosetti added an RBI for FMCC, which travels to Columbia-Greene on Tuesday for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
