Grant to furnish space for children

AMSTERDAM – The Board of Trustees of the Walter Elwood Museum recently announced the receipt of a grant for $4,000 from Children’s Aid Association.

The grant will allow the museum to install an innovative and expanded Children’s Interactive Learning Center at its new site, 100 Church St., a news release said.

The donation will be used to purchase furniture for the new interactive space, including stools, tables and child-safe exhibit cases.

All the furniture from the former Discovery Children’s Exhibit was destroyed by storms Irene and Lee, the release said.
