Local writer to have book-signing event

BROADALBIN – Local writer Greg Hitchcock will host a book-signing party and fundraiser at the American Legion, 19 N. Main St., from 2 to 4 p.m. May 4.

Hitchcock, a former reporter with The Leader-Herald, is the author of “Schizophrenia in the Army,” a memoir about his experiences as a young man in the military dealing with mental illness.

“The book is a personal journey of a mentally ill soldier and his efforts at recovering from his paranoid schizophrenia,”?according to a description from Chipmunka Publishing, which released the book earlier this year. “After years of soul-searching, Greg finally finds himself by going back to his roots and doing what he loves best – writing.”
