Gloversville, B-P compete at meet
HUDSON FALLS – The Gloversville and Broadalbin-Perth track and field team competed at the Luciano Invitational on Saturday.
The B-P girls placed 12th with 15.1428 points, while Gloversville was 14th with 10 points. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake won the girls team title with 98 points.
Burnt Hills also won the boys team title, finishing with a total of 95 points. Gloversville was 11th with 20 points and Broadalbin-Perth was 13th with 19 points.
In the girls meet, B-P’s Anna Smith placed third in the shot put with a throw of 34-8 1/2 feet, while Allison Lysiak was second in the javelin with a throw of 97-0.
Broadalbin-Perth was sixth in the 400 relay, while Mackenzie Ottati was sixth in the high jump for the Lady Patriots with a height of 4-6.
Gloversville’s Chanel Thomas won the pentathlon with a school-record total of 2,760 points.
In the boys meet, Gloversville’s John Knox was second in the 3,200 meters with a time of 9:24.1, which set a new school record.
Matt Rivera was fourth in the 400 hurdles for the Huskies with a time of 1:00.10, while Keyshawn Arnold was fourth in the high jump with a height of 5-9.
Rivera also placed fourth in the javelin throw with a school-record throw of 123-8.
Broadalbin-Perth’s Henry Caughey was third in the 400 meters with a time of 52.08 seconds, while Jake Coveney was sixth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 17.23 seconds. Darius Reyes was third in the long jump with a leap of 19-10 1/4 for the Patriots.
Broadalbin-Perth also placed third in the 400 relay.
