Man heads to prison for drug conviction
JOHNSTOWN – A Gloversville man was sentenced Wednesday in Fulton County Court to 4 1/2 years in state prison for a drug conviction.
Ronald Hill, 32, of 46 Burr St., was sentenced by Judge Richard C. Giardino to the prison time, as well as two years of post-release supervision, as part of a plea arrangement. He was sentenced as a second felony offender.
Sentencing was based on Hill’s Feb. 28 guilty plea to one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was arrested Dec. 1 in Gloversville.
In another court case Wednesday, Joseph McRedmond Jr., 32, of 1253 Old Trail Road, Johnstown, pleaded guilty before Judge Polly A. Hoye to second-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child.
Sentencing was adjourned until a later date, but McRedmond is scheduled to receive six months in jail and 10 years of probation as part of a plea arrangement.
He was arrested July 31 by state police.
