H.S. Softball Roundup: Lady Bills blanked by Scotia-Glenville, 9-0

JOHNSTOWN – For the second day in a row, the Scotia-Glenville softball team visited the area and left with a one-hit shut out.

After defeating Gloversville 6-0 on Thursday, the Lady Tartans traveled to Johnstown Friday and went home with a 9-0 victory.

Ali Stuart and Lyla Day both connected for home runs for Scotia.

Lexi Swatt delivered a single for the Lady Bills’ lone hit of the game.

Johnstown is slated to host Gloversville in a Foothills Council game at 7 p.m. tonight at Johnstown High School. The Lady Bills are slated to?host Galway on Monday in a non-league game at 4:30 p.m.

Fort Plain 11, Saratoga Catholic 4

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Jamie Fredericks pitched a four-hitter to lead Fort Plain to an 11-4 win over Saratoga Central Catholic in a Western Athletic Conference softball game Friday.

Fredericks struck out four and walked one on her way to the complete-game victory.

Brianna Florian went 4-for-5 for Fort Plain (4-1 overall, 3-1 WAC), while Haley Kilmartin, Abby Boyer, Kendra Trembley, Allehah VanLoan, Erin Nellis, Fredericks and Shawna Cotton all had singles.

Myah Ondreyko had two singles and a double for Saratoga Catholic (3-1 WAC).

CANAJOHARIE – Megan Hagadorn had a triple, two singles and two RBIs to lead Middleburgh to a win over Canajoharie.

Middleburgh scored six runs in the top of the sixth to rally from a 5-2 deficit.

Sydni Millum and Bailey Wood each had three hits for Middleburgh (2-2 WAC), while Emily Jenkins and Sierra Lucas each had two hits.

Brittany Pitonza had three hits for Canajoharie (1-3 overall, 1-3 WAC), while Bri Slater, Shy Logan, Emma Stortecky and Katie Towse each had two hits. Morgan Gray added a home run and three RBIs for the Lady Cougars, while Taylor Fancher had a triple.

Sam Hart earned the win for FFCS, striking out six, walking none and allowing six hits.

DOLGEVILLE – Amy Hart pitched a six-hitter to lead Little Falls to a win over Dolgeville.

The Mounties scored 10 runs in the first three innings and added a 10-run fifth to seal the win.
