Support for meal great

On March 14, I witnessed a great outpouring of community spirit for our senior citizens in Gloversville at the Gloversville senior citizens center, located at 53 Church St. A very special group of people volunteered their time in helping prepare and serve a St. Patricks Day luncheon to more than 150 people.

I want to thank my fellow members of the Gloverville senior citizen center Board of Directors for their effort in helping out that day and for all the work they are now doing to develop a viable program at the center.

I also want to offer a special thanks to the following businesses that donated either their time or service for this special day: Hannaford for cookies, Price Chopper for rye bread, Cubby Faville and his students from Hamilton-Fulton-Montgomery Board of Cooperative Educational Services for preparation of the meal, Meatland for the corned beef, WENT for its public-service announcements, and a very special thank you to Charlie Potter for organizing this event.

It is a pleasure to be involved in such a positive organization that is promoting the good welfare of our senior population.
