Man charged in Johnstown burglaries

JOHNSTOWN – A Gloversville man was charged by Johnstown police Saturday in connection with two separate burglaries in the city.

Police said Devin M. Doak, 29, of 19 E. Fulton St., was charged with felony second-degree burglary, felony third-degree burglary and petit larceny.

Police said he was charged in connection with an incident March 29 for breaking into a storage shed at a North Perry Street residence and stealing a weed cutter and a propane heater.

Police said neighbors across the street observed Doak break a window. They went over to investigate and he fled on foot, police said.

On April 3, police said, Doak broke into a Frasier Avenue residence and stole a Wii game system and video games, jewelry and coins. Police said some of the items were recovered at a local pawn shop.

The suspect, who faces action in City Court, is being held at the Fulton County Jail on other charges, police said.
