Fire quelled at pet-grooming business

Perth volunteer firefighters were at the scene of a fire at 1322 County Highway 107 – the location of Klip ‘N Klean Dog and Cat Grooming – in Perth this morning. No injuries were reported and all the animals were removed safely.

The fire, which began about 7 a.m., was confined to a kitchen, said

employee Justis Matuk. A total of 13 dogs were in the building when the fire started, he said. Matuk and firefighters got all 13 dogs out of the building. Matuk said the owner, Diane Faber, today was contacting pet owners to pick up their dogs and arranging for other places for the sheltered dogs to stay.

Perth Assistant Fire Chief Scott

Friedlander said something on the kitchen stove started the fire, which he said destroyed the kitchen and caused smoke and water damage throughout the building. He said the

Broadalbin-Kennyetto assisted at the scene.
