Sir Bills stopped by wet weather
JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown Sir Bills were hoping the light rain that fell at the start of Wednesday’s Foothills Council game with South Glens Falls would subside but it did not.
The late afternoon shower intensified into a thunderstorm, forcing the game to be called after 2 innings of play with the score tied at zero.
The teams will attempt to resume play Friday afternoon.
During the innings played, Johnstown starting pitcher Joe Nellis allowed one base runner, Robert Olsen, with a walk. However, Nellis struck out five of the other nine batters he faced before the game was halted.
The Sir Bills put two base runners on in their two at bats.
Ryan Auty singled in the first inning and stole second before being stranded at third. Connor Rodecker picked up the second Johnstown base hit with a single in the bottom of the second.
