Man arrested again on sex-abuse charge
GLOVERSVILLE – The city Police Department said officers arrested a man for the second time in two weeks for sex abuse.
William Warner III, 43, of 18 Oakland Ave. and 41 Walnut St., was arrested by city police on Monday and charged with a second count of first-degree sex abuse, a felony.
Police said Warner has been in the custody of the Fulton County Correctional Facility for his April 3 arrest for first-degree sex abuse for allegedly inappropriately touching an 8-year-old girl in 2007.
After he was arrested April 3, police said, Warner was sent to the Fulton County Correctional Facility on $20,000 bail by Judge Joan Antonik.
Authorities said after Warner received a pre-trial release from Judge Traci DiMezza during his court appearance on Monday, Warner was taken into custody and charged with another count of first-degree sex abuse.
Police said the charge came after a separate investigation into a report Warner had inappropriate sexual contact with a 9-year-old female while at his residence at 18 Oakland Ave. in 2010. While Warner had the young girl seated on his lap, police said, he began to touch her inappropriately.
Warner was arraigned on the new charge in front of DiMezza in City Court.
Police said the Fulton County district attorney’s office requested $20,000 bail, but DiMezza sent Warner to the Fulton County Correctional Facility on $5,000 bail.
