Drug Quiz Show set for Wednesday

JOHNSTOWN – The 23th annual Fulton County Drug Quiz Show Competition will take place at Fulton-Montgomery Community College in the classroom building Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Six schools from across Fulton County are vying to be the Fulton County Drug Quiz Show champion. The schools are: Broadalbin-Perth Middle School, Edinburg Common School, Gloversville Middle School, Knox Junior High School, Mayfield Central School and Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School.

The event is sponsored by the HFM Prevention Council and the Fulton County Youth Bureau.

The students have been studying 17 learning centers. Topics include alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and other drugs, feelings, conflict resolution, gambling, bullying and stress. A “game show” format is used for the competition, a news release said.

The day will begin with a tour of FMCC for the students.

The public is invited to watch the games.
