Library to get new trustee

GLOVERSVILLE-Voters will determine May 7 who the next person to join the Gloversville Public Library Board of Trustees will be, according to a news release from the library.

The release said trustees must be residents of the Gloversville Enlarged School District and must be qualified to vote.

The release said a candidate must also be willing to devote appropriate time and effort to carry out the duties and responsibilities of trusteeship.

The duties of the trustee will include: regular attendance at board meetings; devoting time to committee service and activities; being visible (and often vocal) in the community on behalf of the library; and taking the time necessary to study and learn about the library, the release said.

Trustees serve five-year terms.

The news release said petitions to run are due to the library by 4 p.m. April 5.
