Police: Man left children alone
GLOVERSVILLE – City police say a local man left his two children alone and unsupervised for more than 24 hours while he was in New York City.
Jonathan J. Morrison, 38, of 17 Allen St., Apartment 2, was charged Monday with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said on Friday, the department responded to a report of two juveniles who had been left home alone and unsupervised while their father was in New York City.
Police say the children’s ages were 14 and 8. Capt. John Sira said Morrison’s ex-wife reported the incident after the 14-year-old attempted to pick up his younger brother at school. School officials were concerned and contacted the mother, Sira said.
He said no harm came to the children during the time they were unsupervised.
Morrison was arraigned in City Court and released on his own recognizance.
He is scheduled to reappear in City Court at 9 a.m. March 11 to answer the charges.
