Patricia A. Harris
Patricia A. Harris, of Elmwood Ave. Johnstown, N.Y., left this Earth to go to Heaven on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, as a result of complications from a stroke she had in December 2009. She was courageous and strong for a long time, but now can rest in peace. She will be forever missed by her family. Patricia had the most beautiful smile that lit up the room. Her strength, determination and ambition was something to admire. Patricia was born on February 3, 1950, to Martha and Edward D. Valachovic. Patricia graduated from Johnstown High School in 1968. That year she began her first job as a telephone operator. Following this job she worked as a file clerk. Also, she worked in retail, as a manager, and held jobs as a file clerk, receptionist at a dental office, was a real estate salesperson and a marketing representative. Her true passion was modeling. She had training in modeling from Barbizon Modeling and took acting classes. These trainings led her to model in several fashion shows and to various charitable organizations as well as promotional advertising work. She enjoyed appearing as a movie extra in “Ironweed” and “Out of the Rain.” Patricia’s other passions were traveling and her family. She loved the ocean and beach and loved her family which she was truly devoted to. She was a superior organizer, enjoyed painting, walking and riding her bike outdoors. She enjoyed going to church and was a parishoner at Holy Trinity Church. She had such a kind heart and fun personality. She volunteered at some local events, gave her hair to Locks of Love and volunteered in classrooms. One year, she even knitted each child in the class a scarf for Christmas. Patricia’s family included her mother and father, who passed away in 2011 and 2009. She was also pre-deceased by a sister, Gail Valachovic, and a brother, Edward J. Valachovic and most recently, in Aug. 2012, her brother Robert J. Valachovic. Also, she was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Robert J. Harris, to whom she was married for 34 years until his passing in 2004. She is survived by two sisters in law, Marsha Shepardson and her husband Dana, and Paula Gugenberger, both of Avondale, Ariz., and two nieces, Beth Ann (Jimmy) and Dyan, also from Arizona. Patricia is survived by her beloved daughter and best friend, Traci Siebel, and her husband Thomas and two grandsons, Robert (her Little Bay) and Tate Siebel of Albany, N.Y. Not a single day will go by without remembering how loving and wonderful Patricia was.
