Nethaway homers in UAlbany loss

COLUMBIA, S.C. – In the first clash of this weekend’s three-game series, the University at Albany baseball team slipped, 8-3, to No. 5 South Carolina, Saturday at Carolina Stadium. While the Gamecocks improved to 3-1 on the season, UAlbany (0-3) will look for its first win in today’s doubleheader, beginning at noon.

In the contest, redshirt junior Josh Nethaway, a Fonda-Fultonville graduate, belted UAlbany’s first home run of the season.

Nethaway blasted a solo shot over the left field wall with two outs off South Carolina starter Jordan Montgomery in the fourth inning.
