Altercation leads to arrest: police

GLOVERSVILLE – City police said a man was arrested on Friday after he had an altercation with his girlfriend causing a laceration to her upper lip.

Jamie L. Lucas, 26, of 86 Broad St. was arrested by city police and charged with two counts of first-degree criminal contempt, both felony charges, and attempted assault.

Police said he was arrested after he had an altercation with his girlfriend causing her to sustain an injury to her lip. He was processed and released with an appearance ticket so he could receive medical treatment for a possible overdose, police said.

Capt. John Sira said Monday morning the exact item he may have overdosed on remains unclear and he was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Lucas was later released from Nathan Littauer Hospital and served with a stay-away order of protection from his residence. After being served, police said, Lucas returned to his residence on two separate occasions. He was reportedly located at the residence the second time and charged.

He was taken into custody and arraigned on all three charges and sent to the Fulton County Correctional Facility.
