‘Casino Royale’ gala to benefit Fulton County YMCA

JOHNSTOWN – The Fulton County YMCA is accepting reservations for its annual dinner dance, which will take place March 8 at St. Patrick’s Lodge on North Perry Street. The theme will be “Casino Royale.”

Casino decorations will adorn the lodge, and attendees will have the opportunity to play non-cash casino games. Prizes will be awarded to those who accumulate the most casino game chips. The event’s “Full House Sponsor” is Pinky’s Parasail, according to a news release.

The highlight of the night will be the presentation of the YMCA Leader of Leaders Award, according to the release. Each year, the YMCA recognizes a person who has distinguished himself or herself as a volunteer leader for the Y. The winner will not be announced until that evening.

Festivities will begin t 6 p.m. with cocktails, appetizers, a silent auction and gaming tables. Dinner will be at 7:30 p.m., and it will be catered by Union Hall Inn. Skyler’s Dream Team will provide music.

Tickets will cost $65 per person or $125 per couple. Dress attire will be black-tie optional. Free babysitting will be provided on location. Anyone wanting to attend may visit the Y to make a reservation.

Th event committee is chaired by YMCA board member Beth Connelie.

Committee members include Kim Preston, Leslie Buggeln Bosworth, Audrey Kline, Debra Kolsrud, Dayton King, Pat Beck, Shannon Kline and Cathleen Abel.

All proceeds from the event will help to subsidize the participation of underprivileged families and children in YMCA activities. In 2012, the YMCA provided more than $80,000 worth of free and reduced-rate access to the YMCA.
