Senior group plans casino trip

GLEN – The Glen-Mohawk Seniors met Tuesday and the meeting was called to order by President Charlene Pollock. The morning prayer was led by Allan Taylor, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. “America the Beautiful” was sung, with Barbara Furman at the piano.

JoAnn Zales, a representative from National Grid, gave a presentation on what to do during a power outage or a natural gas leak. A question-and-answer period followed.

The roll call was taken with 45 members and one guest, Vi Fallone’s daughter, Dawn Jones, present.

The secretary’s report was accepted as read. The treasurer’s report was given, which will be filed for audit.

Furman gave a report on Office for the Aging and there will be a council meeting at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

There are 33 who have signed up for next week’s luncheon, which will include a chicken pot pie, coleslaw and Jell-O.

The final payment for the trips to Turning Stone and to the St. Patrick’s Day show will be Tuesday.

A trip to Foxwoods is being planned for April l6, and 17, with the bus leaving at 8 a.m.

Get-well cards were sent.

The winners of the 50-25-25 raffle were Norma Egelston and Joe Mancini.

It was announced that the Glen Fire Department is having a soup fundraiser from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today.

After the closing prayer, the meeting was adjourned and bingo was played.
