Constance Kuhne, age 85, of Caroga Lake, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the Fulton Center in Gloversville after a long illness.
Born on May 8, 1927, in Caroga Lake, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Sherman and Bernice Sandford Sherman.
Constance was a graduate and valedictorian of the class of 1944 at Wheelerville Union Free School. She also attended Cazenovia College and received a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Lawrence University.
Mrs. Kuhne was a full-time volunteer Bible instructor as a part of a worldwide Bible education work. She was a longtime member of congregations of Jehovah Witnesses of Johnstown and Gloversville.
On May 13, 1949, she was united in marriage to Theodore Kuhne; he passed away on April 23, 1992.
Survivors include: two sons, Michael (Angelika) Kuhne of Canajoharie and Larry (Michele) Kuhne of Gloversville; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and cousins.
She was predeceased by a sister, Beth Sherman.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Gloversville.
Friends and family may call on Friday, February 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown.
Interment will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.
