Mohawks to host event on Saturday

AMSTERDAM – Ticket sales are coming to a close for the Amsterdam Baseball/Mohawks Baseball Hall of Fame dinner that will take place Saturday at St. Mary’s Institute.

The induction class will include Steve Porcello (Amsterdam Little League) and Dan Saullo (Amsterdam High School/Siena College) on the Amsterdam Baseball side of the Hall, while Vince Riggi (University of Richmond) and Mark Leiter Jr (New Jersey Tech) will be inducted on the Mohawks side of the Hall.

Former Mets and Yankees great Dwight Gooden will serve as the keynote speaker of the event. Tickets to the event are $45 and include a full dinner. A silent auction with a huge array of items will be held during the 5 to 6:30 p.m. cocktail hour and Gooden will be signing autographs during that time as well.

Tickets to the dinner will cost $45 and will include the meal and a cocktail hour in which Gooden will be available for autographs.

A table of 10 will cost $400 and a table of eight will cost $320. General admission seating, which does not include dinner, is $25 per seat.
