Santabarbara gets committee seats

ALBANY – Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, D-Rotterdam, recently announced he will serve on the following Assembly Standing Committees for the 2013 legislative session:

  • Agriculture;
  • Energy;
  • Governmental Employees;
  • Small Business;
  • Veterans Affairs.

“Creating jobs and making New York more business-friendly are some of my top priorities,” Santabarbara said in a news release. “These committee assignments will help me work to promote and support small businesses and our regions strong agricultural background.”

Santabarbara said his experience as a civil engineer will help him as he serves on the Energy Committee.

“Engineers use solution-based thinking when approaching different problems or situations,” Santabarbara said in the release. “My background will help me bring fresh ideas and creative solutions to address the issues affecting our communities.”

Santabarbara’s district includes Montgomery County. Santabarbara defeated Minden Supervisor Thomas Quackenbush in November.
