Raymond H. McWalker Sr.

Mr. Raymond H. McWalker Sr., 101, of Gloversville, passed away January 24, 2013. He was born in Caroga Lake on August 31, 1911, son of the late George and Evangeline McWalker. Mr. McWalker was educated in local schools and employed as a truck driver at the former Treher & Jung Plumbing & Heating Supply Co. in Gloversville. Upon his retirement there several years ago, Raymond worked as a security guard for the Pinkerton Agency at Mohawk Finishing in Amsterdam.

An avid reader, Raymond also enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching boxing matches.

His loving family includes his daughter, Anna Plaskett, and son, Lawrence McWalker Sr. “Louie” and his companion, Julie Watson, all of Gloversville. Raymond also leaves a sister, Genevieve Ellis of Gloversville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Dixon McWalker; sons, Joseph McWalker and Raymond H. McWalker Jr.; a brother, Lawrence McWalker; and two sisters, Mildred Smith and Florence McWalker.
