Pauline V. Filmer
Pauline V. Filmer, 83, of Rensselaer, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at St Peter’s Hospital. Pauline was born in Kuklov, Czechoslovakia, raised in Johnstown, N.Y.; graduated from Johnstown High School, participated in gymnastics program with Sokol Organization. She was married Sept. 17, 1955, to Elwood J. Filmer Jr. She was a homemaker, avid gardner, enjoyed baking, arts and crafts, tole painting, spending time with family and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Josef and Maria Hladik; and brother-in-law. Frank Allen.
Pauline is survived by: her husband, Elwood “Woodie” J. Filmer Jr.; four daughters, Robin Filmer, Carol Ann Filmer, Debra (Michael Barber) Mainville, Loretta Bushnell; and two sons, Michael (Debi) Lewis, Robert Filmer; two sisters, Mary Allen and Anne ( Paul) Dominiak; one brother, Stephen (Patricia) Hladik; two grandchildren: Matthew (Chantel) Filmer, granddaughter, Erin (Robert Galvin III) Filmer. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer and at 9:30 a.m. at Church of St. Mary of Clinton Heights. Interment will be in New Rural Cemetery, Rensselaer. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
